Coaches – Thank you for coaching. The SV/SLV Soccer Club is run by volunteers – we literally could not do it without YOU!

VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED FOR FALL REC PROGRAM!

REC LEAGUE COACHES:
The fall season runs from August through November.  Two practices per week is recommended for teams U10 and above, one per week for U6 and U8.  On average, there is one game per weekend.  The head coach can request one assistant coach.  The assistant coach must request to be with that head coach when they register.  The head coach selects their practice field and time at the Coaches meeting in July.

ALL potential coaches must register on the Club’s SPORTABILITY site.  This is separate from your son or daughter’s player registration.  All candidates are subject to review and approval by the SV/SLV Soccer Club Board of Directors.

Q: Do I need experience to coach a team?
For recreational soccer, we are always looking for volunteer coaches whether you are a seasoned player/coach or new to soccer!  Our coaches are exposed to coaching clinics, receive reference material, and are provided the opportunity to attend club team training sessions to enhance coaching development.  For those interested in coaching a competitive team, please contact advancedteams@svslvsoccerclub.org
 

Q: Can I coach more than one team?
Yes, coaches can coach more than one team, and we try our best to coordinate schedules and game days.  It is helpful to have an assistant coach that can cover in the event there are conflicts.
 

Q:What type of equipment is provided?
Rec team coaches will receive soccer balls, team uniforms, and practice lesson materials.
 

Q:How long is the season?
Practices typically start by mid-August with games starting the weekend after Labor Day and ending 1-2 weeks before Thanksgiving.
 

Q:What are the time requirements?
REC
– U6: Typically practices 1x per week (Fridays), and has a 9-10 weekend (Sundays)
– U8: Typically practices 1x per week, and has a 9-10 weekend (mostly Saturday)
– U10-U19: Typically practices 2x per week, and has a 9-10 game season (mostly Saturday)
COMP
-U9 to U19: Pracies 2x per week, 9-10 game season (Saturday or Sunday)

ALL COACHES
Concussion Training:
All coaches must complete the following concussion training:

Live Scan:
All adults working with children in the SV/SLV Soccer Club  must complete a LIve Scan background check.  Please contact the registrar for additional information, registrar@svslvsoccerclub.org.

SPRING 4V4 COACHES
Please consider coaching a 4v4 team the season runs from Mid-March through early June..  Contact a coaches coordinator for more information coachescoordinator-slv@svslvsoccerclub.org OR coachescoordinator-sv@svslvsoccerclub.org .  Register to coach through SPORTABILITY.   If you are assigned a team, you will receive your roster and uniforms at the first practice.  The program is an academy style format with a 4v4 playing model. Practices for all teams will be one day a week, on Fridays. Friday practice sessions are led by our Club trainer and our field marshal staff. This is a great opportunity for new coaches to get experience.
